The Surf House is located just a short walk to Playa Grande’s main surf break and Las Baulas National Park, where jaw-dropping sunsets are a daily occurrence. This home was built in 2004 and imbued with the spirit of Costa Rica. You can call this your year-round home or rent it out when you are not here because this is the definition of a Costa Rican surf house: Done in the traditional local style of concrete, wood, and a clay tile roof, it offers all the comforts of home. 

Picture this, picture home! The Surf House’s upstairs master bedroom is large and has its own private deck with stairs down to the pool. It has a king bed, as well as two "day beds" (twin mattress-sofa combinations), for those parents who want to have their children in their room. It shares the grand master bath with what we call the 4th bedroom. This large open area also has its own patio, with a locking door down the stairs, and has a built-in full or double bed; it is best suited for 1 adult or two younger children. 

Down the stairs, you’ll feel the breeze as it whispers through the screened-in, open-air staircase to the lower level. This level has 2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths, plus the kitchen and living area. A queen-size bed and a trundle (twin) underneath are in each room, making room to accommodate a second family or a larger group. This level walks out onto the pool area, where you will find a large palapa (thatched-roof rancho) with hammocks and a large table, crafted from Guanacaste, a local and tropical hardwood. It’s the perfect place to enjoy most of your meals!

As the home is located on an approximately quarter-acre lot, there’s plenty of room to build an additional “casita”, if you’d like. The Surf House also comes complete with the little things you come to expect in the tropics: visiting monkeys, iguanas, and more. The home sleeps a maximum of 10, including young children and families, or up to a maximum of 8 adults or teens.
